I would highly recommend Socket Doctor to anyone needing electrical work. They were very good about texting over the date and times on when the technician would arrive. Their pricing was excellent. It started with me being completely overwhelmed trying to figure out who I was going to hire to install a Tesla hardwired charger in my garage. After going back and forth with different companies, not getting timely replies or getting quotes that were more than I was willing to spend, Camille called me. She kept at it too. Which was EXACTLY what I needed. Very prompt, kind and professional. She got me on the schedule same day to have someone come and give me an estimate. David and Ryan arrived before the scheduled window, which was perfect because I was waiting to run some errands. The quote was very reasonable too. The install was estimated to take 30 minutes but it only took 15 and it was done perfectly! They cleaned up before they left and I can’t say enough positive things about this crew!Posted on Google

We expected some issues from our home inspection during due diligence, but he was much more thorough and spotted amateur work, safety concerns, and went through all of the findings with me. From there, he helped me prioritize safety and immediate fixes, things to consider in the near future, and then also talked to me about what would be needed for potential projects in the future. They were always prompt at the beginning of their expected ETA range, and all of the people on site (David & Ryan in addition to Greg & Adam) were knowledgable and efficient with their tasks when we moved ahead with a bulk of the work discussed. Stan LowensteinNovember 17, 2025I needed to get a new hot water heater and when you’re in a 50 yr old home, we were told it was time to get all new panels and update our system (arghhhhh) I got 2 quotes that were similar and then my 3rd company (Brad) was next - they didn’t want to quote the job without first coming by to look….great lesson for me as I thought it wouldn’t matter, already sent them pics and figured they wanted to come to my home so they could tell me even more to do and “sell” me …..but in fact it really showed their professionalism… —- they said I needed 1 new panel (not 2) the other one was fine just not set up right…it needed circuits replaced and a deep clean - but not a brand new one. This saved me about 10 % versus the other quote. They were honest , put up with a lot of questions and they showed up on time and did a great job. Went the extra mile to label every circuit in a 5500 square ft home - 100% would recommend calling Brad and Socket Doctors- the lady who helped coordinate and schedule everything was first class as well!Posted on Google

They were the manufacturer's preferred installer for the wall charger, so they met certain standards as evaluated by another party. (This is not an insignificant element since this is high voltage stuff that can be error prone, according to the experience of some less fortunate acquaintances who used other firms.) I found SD to be good communicators, highly professional, and showed up right on time. Their scheduler was highly courteous, and their appointment setting was flexible. While they no doubt have to work constantly to balance various projects, they also worked around my schedule so that everything was completed in a reasonable amount of time. I was very skeptical because my circuit breaker panel was completely full, and we already had two heat pumps, an electric water heater, electric range, electric dryer, and a four season room that all used high amperage double pull breakers. I honestly thought it was either hopeless, or going to be very expensive! When the electricians from Socket Doctors showed up, they never had a doubt that they could get the new NEMA 14-50 (double pull 50 amp) circuit installed! They reviewed my existing circuits, and were able to find some under utilized circuits that they could combine to make room for the new circuit. Two hours after pulling into my driveway, they were pulling back out having successfully installed a new NEMA 14-50 circuit exactly where I had requested it for the standard price! I still can’t believe they were able to get it done, but they never had a doubt. They were the most positive thinking electricians I have ever met! Great work, completely professional installation! Socket Doctor is our go-to for any wiring, electrical or data. We've used Brad and his folks several times at a couple houses. The first time, I had them put in a new breaker box and a whole house surge-protector. The job was handled quickly, easily, with no hassle at all, and at a very reasonable price. We also had them wire the second house fully with CAT6. Again, the job was handled quickly, easily, with no hassle, and at a reasonable price. I'm about to have them add new wiring for a new bathroom, and they already quoted me a very reasonable price. They are the only folks I go to for wiring. We just had a repair crew that came out last week and pretty much replaced all of the replaceable parts - however, because the ovens still weren't working, the crew told us that it was most likely a failed circuit breaker. Spoke to Brad on Monday and set up an appointment for this morning (Tue). Greg called ahead of time to let me know his approximate arrival. Greg metered the breaker and an intermediate junction box, both showing no issues and that power was flowing and deduced that the junction box behind the ovens was failing. Greg helped us slide the double-ovens out where he confirmed that the power to the oven panel was not right - he then opened the junction box and found a burned connector (most likely due to a faulty original install of the ovens two years ago). Greg snipped the lines, secured the connections, installed new wire nuts, flipped the circuit breaker back, checked the power and all was good. In July, we decided to repair the lights above a mirror in a guest powder room/bathroom. The Socket Doctors came within a reasonable time and at a fair price. Greg came within the two hour window they promised and got right to work. I explained the issue to Greg. He checked all the sockets in question and actually found another one in another room that was not working. After moving several shelves and tools in my workshop we were able to locate the problem. A GFI socket was tripped. This socket was behind a large cabinet so Greg put another GFI socket in the same room in an accessible place so if it tripped again we could reset it. He was very professional and friendly and gave me estimates on other work I asked him about. Socket Doctors was very up front about costs and the job ended up being less than they quoted originally. Rather than call for an emergency service call, which would likely have been very expensive, I decided to search the "deals" on Angie's List. That led me to call Socket Doctors to inquire about their $59 "Basic Electrical Service Call and Whole-House Electrical Inspection" deal. First I described what had happened with our outlet and asked whether they believed there was any immediate danger. They seemed very confident that, although we obviously needed to have it inspected and repaired, there was no danger of a fire as a result of that incident. Then I asked if I could use the $59 deal to have this problem fixed and also get an inspection of our entire house. They gladly agreed. That impressed me because they could have easily persuaded me that I needed an immediate emergency service call and charged me a lot of money. I then bought the deal and was able to schedule the service call within a few days. The electrician who came on November 6 was terrific. First he explained that the bathroom outlet had melted because it had been poorly installed when our house was built. He said that is a common problem. Then he repaired the wiring to that outlet and put in a new cover plate. After than he inspected all the outlets in our home and corrected shoddy connections in many of them. I was blown away by the level of service he provided. I called one from Angie's list, and they couldn't come for another week. I called Socket Doctors and left a message. I got an immediate call back, and explained the situation. Brad said they were full, but could squeeze me in at the end of the day. The technician called me while on the way to my house, and met me at home on time. He was early. He inspected my circuit breaker and told me that everything was fine with it. He then ran a test and concluded that my neutral wire coming in from GA Power was not right. He eventually found a problem where my electrical meter connected to my line outside. He showed me where something melted inside the meter housing and was burning. He called GA Power because it was behind their meter and he could not legally remove the meter and fix it. He waited almost an hour for GA Power to arrive, and eventually had to leave. The next day, I called GA Power and escalated the situation. They sent someone out who made the same diagnosis, and fixed the area where the short was. There was still a problem. GA Power had to run a whole new line to my meter because squirrels had chewed it. It took them hours. What was amazing to me is that the tech from Socket Doctors called me back that night to ask if GA Power had arrived, and what they said. He was curious to know what they said. I was impressed that anyone who had been paid for their work, and had concluded that it was not something they could legally fix, cared enough to call back the next day to follow up. The lack of an electrical outlet anywhere near the fireplace to plug the TV into was the largest challenge with this job. The electricians came in and examined all possibilities and eventually came up with a solution through an upstairs wall and through the attic to place an outlet downstairs directly behind where the TV would be. The result is a perfectly hung HDTV above the fireplace with absolutely no wires showing (granted I have wireless cable, which helps). They had to punch a hole in a wall upstairs to reroute wiring and they simply used that hole to put in a functioning outlet, which was a nice bonus for upstairs. Throughout the process they explained to me what they were going to attempt and the pros and cons of each option. I also ask them about installing a bathroom vent for a first story bathroom. They were able to figure a way to get it done and gave me a price for that ($489). Greg Pica, one of th owners, came to our home and did a fantastic job. It's great to work with an Angie"s List provider but it's even better when it's the owner operator. Greg was very professional and he really knows the electrical business. We have a light switch at the top of our basement stairs and another at the bottom of our basement stairs that operates the light on the stairway. Basically the light switches as well as the light would not work. Greg checked the light fixture and determined that it was OK. However, he found that both light switches had been wired incorrectly and this was the reason they didn't work. In just a few minutes he wired the switches correctly and we now have light when we go to the basement. Greg also inspected our breaker box, the appliances, the electrical fixutres, electrical sockets, lights, smoke alarms throughout our home. He made serveral rocommendations to improve our electrical safety and bring eveything in our home up to code. I was impressed with Greg's professionalism, his knowledge and the quaity of his work. I was also impressed with the very econominal estimate to make the necessary electrical improvements to our home. No circuit breakers were tripped. I was stumped. Brad (owner) and another electrician helping him arrived on time, after calling when they were about a half hour away. They tested the circuits in both bathrooms, and based on their knowledge and experience, asked to check all outlets on the outside of the house. Sure enough, a covered outlet on the back of the house had a poor connection of one wire, which had become discolored by heat. They replaced that outlet. They rewired the outlets in the bathrooms to have more secure connections, which seemed to me to be exemplary service that they could have skipped if not being meticulous. Power restored to all circuits, they cleaned up and left. There were a couple of non-code issues that I decided to postpone. I was very pleased with the work. In addition to the electrical work, they checked and replaced batteries in the smoke detectors and recommended replacing the carbon monoxide detector. Both Brad and the other young gentleman with him were very perfessional and provided explanations for the work they were performing. The also found that the outside socket on the back patio was incorrectly installed. When the cover was removed, it was discovered that the socket did not sit inside of the "aluminum" box (not sure if that's the technical term). He and his team did an excellent job, and listened to exactly what I wanted. The crew was very professional and courteous and cleaned up any mess that was made during installation. Overall, a really terrific job. The only negative comment that I have is that when I called to get some additional work done (totalling another several hundred dollars), Brian did not seem interested in doing the work because I asked about whether he was offering another Angies list discount. This is something that I do not understand about some companies. Angies list is a great way to get initial clients, but it is also a way to give discounts to repeat customers. When Brad and his helper arrived they were very professional and explained everything that they would do in detail and in a way that we could understand. Out of the several items we had needed, we decided to only have them install the whole-house surge protector device on our electrical panel. This was not due to anything they did or said, but merely lack of time and money on our part. We will most likely have them do the other things later. The surge protection was needed now. We did not get the 10% off for new Angie's List customers because we did not have a printer yet to print out the coupon. We will be certain to do that next time.Posted on Angie's ListRobert M.May 1, 2013We've had a problem for many years, where suddenly our lights would begin to dim and brighten as high-draw appliances are turned on/off. When the washer would agitate, the lights would pulse in time with it. We had Jackson EMC out three times, and another electrician out once. Each time, they could not find any problem,but would snug down the outside box connections, just to be sure, and the problem would go away - for months or years. This time, I was determined to finally get this figured out. Brad came out and checked everything in the house and found no problems, but upon inspecting the outside box, he noticed that the temperature on the JEMC side was high, so he called them out, and they decided that the neutral connection was just not making good reliable contact, so Brad made arrangements to replace the box the next day. He had it done in the time estimated, for the price estimated, and everything went well. I had a stuck bulb, non-working external power outlet, and blown external lights were hard to remove. The stuck bulb was put in crooked by the builder. The Socket Doctor worker got it out. The non-working outlet turned out just needed resetting. And the worker showed me how to easily remove the external lights. Ran down Socket Doctors on Angie's List and contacted them for an estimate. Brad showed up promptly, walked me through options and pricing and we set a date. He and Greg showed up at the appointed time/date and executed the work meticulously and professionally. We are very pleased with the work they did and would hire them out again should the need arise. Brad did fix a small but niggling problem with some dead outlets on his initial consult at no charge - that was a nice bonus!
